I'm disappointed by the way Nevid did on last friday's drama session. Going into the place with an unhealthy body, I was never prepared to offer my best for reading, or for that matter, acting the characters out as whatever the trainer said. Fine, I took a script from Bev which had the writer's role when I was told that I had to get something to prepare to showcase my talent for the performance. I waited for centuries before there was something for me to do. That's when trouble came in. Nevid just popped in front of me and started rambling to me this...
N: hey i need you to do this. you'll play the single dad's role. i've typed two monologues...
Me: ... but bev gave me the writer's role already...
N: that role doesn't fit you. now, take this. (points to the last line of the first monologue)
Me: (seeing that his finger was a little shivering and couldn't really point out where to act out exactly) err.. is it the top, or the bottom?
N: oh. the top.
Me: (look again; the top monologue was the one he crossed out, the ticked one was left untouched) alright. (started mugging for the lines)
My lines were trashy, did nothing practically on stage, anyone who reads the stage very well knows that I was plain blur. Even when the trainer bombarded me with the scenario for her round of improvisation, I literally stoned and put up a smiley face for her as if I'm listening attentively. Too bad! Anyway, when I was halfway through, close to ending in fact, I looked up. Honestly, I ignored the rest of the guys' staring at my scene. Instead, I was eyeing on the trainer, wishing to know how she felt for that kind of act. Apparently, she was busy socialising with God knows whoever and the best part was that the rest had to clap before the trainer knows that the show was over.
Now the 'fantastic' climax. Nevid began to read the monologue he typed and it was the one he ticked! Boom! My confidence in this fellow just blew, even if he's talented. Perhaps he might had his own point to prove, but wished he didn't used me as his bait or sacrificial tool for his aims.
